What data does MBC collect about me?

  • Personal identifiers (e.g., first name, last name, username, e-mail address, role [student | instructor | course coordinator])
  • MBC course information (e.g., institution where you are taking the MBC course, courses in which you are enrolled, grades, subscription information)
  • Activity information (e.g., how you interact with the platform and related services)

MBC will not collect any special category data about you (e.g., health data or ethnic origins).

What software integrations does MBC use?

myBusinessCourse ("MBC"), a Sage Publications, Inc. service, integrates the following Microsoft Excel add-ins to support Integrated Excel coursework:

  • MBC Attempt Grader — used by students and instructors to complete and grade Excel-based homework questions.
  • Cloze Question Builder — used by MBC administrators to author Moodle Cloze-format questions.

This Privacy Notice applies to your use of MBC and these add-ins.

How will MBC use my data?

  • To provide you with MBC and manage your subscription
  • To provide you with customer/technical assistance
  • To associate records between your institution, MBC courses, and MBC grades
  • To improve MBC

Who does MBC share my data with?

  • Sage employees and contractors who are responsible for:
    • Customer service or technical support (as needed)
    • Maintaining MBC
  • Your institution
  • Your instructor
  • Your institution's learning management system

How long does MBC keep my data?

MBC anonymizes student, instructor, and course coordinator data upon request.
